When planning your event, you will need to make sure your event is SAFE and SUCCESSFUL, which can easily be accomplished by working with our Special Event Planning and Permitting office. Check out the SEP site for many great event planning resources, contract summary sheets, waivers and Special Event Permits. Check out tips for event planning from Guest Services.
If your organization would like to plan an event in the Club Downunder, contact Union Productions to co-sponsor an event. RSOs can co-sponsor events with Union Productions by emailing them.
If your RSO would like to co-sponsor with another RSO, you can contact them or get in touch with your SOAR Board liaison to discover other organizations.

Organizations can reserve space on campus for free.
Contact Guest Services to request space:
Be sure to email or call (644-6083) Guest Services at least 24 hours in advance for cancellations to prevent being identified as a no-show. Three no-shows can lead to a loss of reservation privileges for the semester.

Print materials and posting
The SGA Student Publications office (Oglesby Union, A302) can assist with designing and printing materials for RSOs. Organizations funded with A&S monies should have the SGA Seal on their promotional materials. Student Publications staff may also assist with designing and printing materials for RSOs. Email Marvin Harris or call 644-1811.
The Oglesby Union Marketing office (Oglesby Union, A143) assists RSOs in promoting their organization and events. RSOs may bring 10-15 flyers (size 8 1/2 x 11 or smaller)to be posted on the outdoor campus cork boards. There is also limited space in locked display cases for RSO flyers (size 8 1/2 X 11 or smaller). No inappropriate flyers will be posted. There is no guarantee that flyers will stay up once they are posted. Flyers are posted one week in advance. Outdated flyers will be taken down. Questions about the posting policy, call 644-5395 or read the policy online.
You can also make 5000 free copies in the Student Activities Center. Bring your own paper and see Cindy Christopher in the SAC for your RSO copy code today.
RSO websitesRSOs can create their own websites through a free server (ex: Geocities) and you can provide us with the link during the RSO registration application. Chalking
For those walking by, chalking in designated areas around campus is a great way to promote your event. Chalking permits can be printed off from the Special Event Planning website.

Leaders Listserv
Send an email to over a thousand campus leaders!
The Student Activities Center administers the Leaders Listserv as a resource for student leaders on campus. All Presidents of Registered Student Organizations are automatically subscribed to the listserv upon completion of the annual registration process. Other interested students or campus staff or faculty can subscribe by following the instructions below. Leaders is a forum to announce campus events, deadlines and other relevant information for student organizations. Stay up to date with the Leaders Listserv!
IMPORTANT: The Leaders Listserv is only sent out on Mondays and Thursdays, following the FSView schedule.
How to subcribe: Send an email to sac@admin.fsu.edu with "subscribe" in the subject line. In the body of the email, type the correct email address to receive the information on campus life events and program listings. Activation of your account may take 24-48 hours.
To post an announcement to leaders, submit an email to leaders@lists.fsu.edu.
Criteria to post: Information posted to the Leaders Listserv should PROMOTE FSU events or programs that are open to ALL students.

RSOs are eligible for funding from SGA through various funding boards. To learn more about the funding boards, SGA accounting practices and funding policies - Click Here. Be sure to attend a SGA Financial workshop annually to be able to spend your RSO's money.

An open dance is one way to raise monies. There are limited dates available for these events which can be reserved by contacting the Student Activities Center at 644-6673 on a first come first serve basis. Please review the Open Dance policy and Dance Checklist before reserving a dance date.

Table space in the Union is a great way to promote your RSO each - many RSOs table each week!
Every day EXCEPT Wednesday: Tables should be reserved through the Oglesby Union Guest Services department.
Contact Guest Services:
Wednesday Policy: Wednesdays in the Union are known as Market Wednesdays. Space is usually not limited however RSOs should sign up at the SAC to reserve a table beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Union Courtyard.

Computers and a fax machine are available in the SAC located next to the front desk. SAC is located on the third floor of the Union above the SGA offices.

Another privilege for RSOs is the ability to apply for office space. The Oglesby Union Board conducts space allocation hearings each spring. RSOs can apply for space through the Space Allocation Committee. Contact the Union Board for the space allocation schedule and process:
