Help us kick off the new Tobacco-Free FSU Policy

Be part of the Tobacco-Free FSU “Living Logo” which will be formed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 (doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for sign-in and position assignment)FSU wants you to be on Bobby Bowden Field holding a card alongside other supportive Seminoles that together will make up the 40’ by 40’ Tobacco-Free FSU logo.  You, and any organizations you represent are hereby invited to be a part of the Tobacco-Free FSU “Living Logo” in FSU’s Doak Campbell Stadium.

This invitation extends to both on and off-campus individuals and groups who support a healthy campus for everyone, but especially for those who suffer or know someone suffering from asthma and other chronic health conditions detrimentally impacted by secondhand smoke.  The lights will be on, the Seminole head will be freshly painted and refreshments will be available.

Standing next to the pristine Seminole head in center field, the larger than life logo will be made up of those persons who support a healthier, smoke-free campus.  Some will hold cards that together will form a heart next to others holding cards that will form the Tobacco-Free FSU logo.  The crowd will then scream out, “Seminoles love Tobacco-Free FSU!” Cameras will still be rolling after the Living Logo activity has been concluded so that those who are interested will have the opportunity express their reasons for participating in the event and for supporting the policy.

This will all be professionally filmed and then displayed on the FSU website, at athletic events, on the FSU channel, as well as on video boards around campus (such as at the Card Center).  Local TV and other news organizations will be invited to cover the event.  For the event to work, we need to get at least 300 students, faculty, staff and community members to participate, so please share this information with any organizations with which you are affiliated and/or which might be interested.
