Seminole Sensation Week 2014

Before Florida State University’s fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 25, students can participate in Seminole Sensation Week from Wednesday, Aug. 20, to Tuesday, Aug. 26 — seven days of dozens of fun activities designed to help them learn about the many ways to get involved on campus and meet other students who share their interests.

During Seminole Sensation Week, students can enjoy a free outdoor concert featuring Washed Out; two outdoor movies on the Oglesby Union Green, midnight movies at the Askew Student Life Building; karaoke at the Club Downunder; bowling at Crenshaw Lanes; comedic performances in the Oglesby Union Ballrooms; and much more. For a complete schedule, visit ssweek.fsu.edu.

On Sunday, Aug. 24th, the New Student Convocation will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 W. Pensacola St., followed by the President’s Backyard Barbecue from 3 to 5 p.m. at the President’s House, 1030 W. Tennessee St.

Campus favorite Curtis Zimmerman will return to FSU on Monday, August 25 at 7:00pm in the Union Ballrooms. Laugh, juggle, and play Simon Says, but don’t be fooled by all the fun. Curtis’ messages are substantive and far-reaching. Be prepared to be empowered, challenged, and changed. Co-sponsored with New Student & Family Programs.

The week concludes on Aug. 26 with a signature event, an Involvement Fair from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Oglesby Union, which features A Taste of Seminole Dining and provides students with information on hundreds of recognized student organizations and departments.
