Before Florida State University’s fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 24th, students can participate in Seminole Sensation Week from Wednesday, Aug. 19th, to Saturday, Aug. 29th — 11 days of fun activities designed to help them learn about the many ways to get involved on campus and meet other students who share their interests.
During Seminole Sensation Week, students can enjoy a free outdoor concert featuring Vince Staples; midnight movies at the Askew Student Life Cinema; karaoke and speed friending at the Club Downunder; bowling and billiards at Crenshaw Lanes; performances in the Oglesby Union Ballrooms; and much more. For a complete schedule, visit ssweek.fsu.edu.
On Sunday, Aug. 23rd, the New Student Convocation will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 W. Pensacola St., followed by the President’s Welcome from 3 to 4 p.m.
Campus favorite Curtis Zimmerman will return to FSU on Friday, Aug. 21st at 8:30pm in the Union Ballrooms. Laugh, juggle, and play Simon Says, but don’t be fooled by all the fun. Curtis’ messages are substantive and far-reaching. Be prepared to be empowered, challenged, and changed. Co-sponsored with New Student & Family Programs.
On Aug. 25th, there will be a signature event, the fall Involvement Fair from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Oglesby Union, which provides students with information on hundreds of recognized student organizations and departments and features Taste of Seminole Dining and Student Activities Center Open House.
The week concludes on Aug. 29th with a new event, Experience Tallahassee, starting at 6 p.m. at Cascades Park. Experience Tallahassee will feature tours of Tallahassee for students that will culminate in a welcome party.
