Looking for something to do this Labor Day weekend?

The Oglesby Union and their departments have a variety of different events going on all weekend long; from movies at the ASLC, to cosmic bowling at Crenshaw Lanes, to the SGA away game viewing party on Saturday, September 2nd.

Art Center

The Oglesby Union Art Center carries a wide variety of un-glazed pottery pieces starting at $8. Paint-a-Pot pricing provides glaze, clear coat firing, unlimited paint time, and plenty of space in our relaxing space for a fun, creative experience for all ages and artistic abilities. If you need a little extra inspiration, our staff that is always willing to lend a hand or share some insight.

Or are you looking for a new hobby? Sign up for an art class in wheel throwing, handbuilding, drawing, painting, glass fusing, or jewelry. Students $55 – Faculty/Staff $100 – General Public $145

  • Friday, September 1st – (10am – 9pm)

  • Monday, September 4th – (10am – 9pm)
    • The Art Classes for Intermediate Wheel Throwing and Glass Fusing begin at 5:30pm.
    • There are two sessions of art classes, the first beginning September 4 and running through October 22 and the second beginning October 23 and running through December 16.
    • All classes come with open access, anytime we are open. You may use your area of work unless there is another class in session. Pottery wheels can be used at any time if there is a wheel available.

Askew Student Life Cinema

  • Friday, September 1st – (8am – 12am)
    • It Comes at Night is playing at 7pm & 9:30pm
      • A man (Joel Edgerton) must protect his family from a tremendous terror of the outside world. When another family arrives seeking refuge, tensions mount and trust dissolves as horror encroaches on the home. Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Christopher Abbot (Girls) also star in this new psychological thriller.
    • The Goodies is playing at 12am (Doors open at 11:30)
      • A group of pre-teens, self-proclaimed the “Good Docks”, try to save their neighborhood from demolition and in doing so find a Spanish map that leads them to the greatest adventure of their lives trying to find the fortune of One-Eyed Willy.

Club Downunder

  • Friday, September 1st – Doors 8pm | Show 9pm
    • Pride Drag Show: “Once Upon a Drag” Come celebrate Kings, Queens and In-Betweens at the semiannual PRIDE Drag Show! This event has consistently been a favorite for FSU students, and it’s no surprise why. Be sure to arrive early to see some of Florida’s most captivating entertainers put on a show like you’ve never seen before. (18+, free for students with valid FSU ID)

Crenshaw Lanes

  • Friday, September 1st – (10am – 2am)
    • Cosmic Bowling is hosted from 9pm to 2am. Cosmic Bowling includes a unique black light effect, with sound sensitive disco lighting, that creates an exciting atmosphere for bowling with old friends and meeting new ones.

        FSU Students: $10/hr per lane
        General Public: $18/hr per lane
  • Saturday, September 2nd – (2pm – 2am)

Looking for a quiet zone to study or just somewhere to pass time on campus with your friends? Krentzman Lounge is the perfect location. Equipped with seven workspaces, LCD monitors, TV and a couch you can either practice for group presentations or just past the time.

Student Government Association

The mission of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to provide FSU students with representation, services, and advocacy within the university structure.
