During the MLK Weekend, the Oglesby Union and its departments will be operating under special hours of operations and will be bowling, billiards and paint-a-pot specials. There will also be special programming offered by the Division of Student Affairs and its departments for MLK Week 2018. Florida State University is a diverse and multifaceted university with incredible possibility for opportunity and involvement, but it is also enormously large. It can be hard to find your niche sometimes when there are so many possibilities. Luckily, the Student Organization Advisory Resource (SOAR) Board and the Student Activities Center are hosting an involvement fair this Thursday, January 11th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm! Come out and get to know over 200 Recognized Student Organizations at the Spring Involvement Fair.
Winter Break is right around the corner! The Oglesby Union will be closing on Thursday, December 21st at 5pm for the Holiday Break. Some departments will be reopening on Tuesday, January 2nd at 8am. See the list below for hours of operations of our departments during the break.
Find a new passion, learn new skills, or just have fun! The Oglesby Union Art Center offers classes in beginners and intermediate wheel, handbuilding, painting, drawing, glass fusing, and jewelry. The first session of classes starts Monday, January 22nd with Beginning Wheel at 5:30pm. The Art Center offers special rates for FSU Students ($55), Faculty and Staff ($100). General Public pricing is set at $145 for one 7 week class session.
FSU’s Student Life Cinema is one of the nation’s leading campus movie programs, featuring movies selected by all-student committees: five to six nights a week of everything from the most recent blockbuster movies to documentaries, indies, and foreign films, to restored cinema classics. Movies are FREE for FSU students with valid FSU ID, $5 for general admission, and $3 for TFS members.
The SLC also has a fully equipped coffee shop serving lattes, cappuccinos, smoothies, and more! The Grindhouse is open weekday mornings from 8am-Noon, and on movie nights from 5pm-11pm.
Thanksgiving Break starts this Wednesday, November 22. Please see the list below for a full list of the operating times for the Oglesby Union and all other Departments. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and reflect on all that we have. Take this break to unwind from the semester and reground yourself before we move in to finals next week. Be safe during your travels and remember, you are always a Seminole, even when you’re away from campus, always Uphold the Garnet & Gold. All departments will reopen for normal hours of operation on Monday, November 27th.
Homecoming 2017: Spirit of Unity kicks off this Sunday, November 12th. Experience the Seminole pride and FSU school spirit with this activity-filled week and show your passion for the Garnet and Gold! Don’t miss your chance to enjoy Warchant, Pow Wow, Homecoming Parade, and more. Come watch the crowning of Florida State’s Homecoming Chief and Princess on Nov. 17th at 7:00pm in the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, followed by Pow Wow 2017 featuring Hannibal Buress with special guests Jak Knight!

Parents’ Weekend 2017 is scheduled for this weekend, November 3 – 4. This weekend is the time for parents and families to become acquainted with Florida State and learn more about their students’ experience. Some of the events taking place include bowling specials, silent auction, movies and more!
Don’t miss your chance to celebrate Parents’ Weekend under the Big Top with the FSU Flying High Circus. Available shows on Friday night include 6:00pm and 9:00pm. There will also be a 5K Fun Run/Walk through FSU’s beautiful campus at 8:00am on Saturday.
Prepare for a night of pumpkins, costumes, food, and fun! The annual Haunted Harvest will take place on Friday, October 20th.
