Class registration is open until March 18. Space is limited, first-come first-served basis. There is a non-refundable $10 deposit to register. This deposit fee will be absorbed into the class fee. The transaction fee will be absorbed by the Art Center. Payment for class and clay is taken by credit card on the first day of class. Please show up on time. Any students that do not show up on time may lose their spot in the class which may be filled by another student. THERE IS NO WAIT LIST, please show up to the class you want to get into on the first day of the class. NOTE: All class times are subject to change before registration begins. Classes are held in the Art Center at the Student Union.

All classes come with open access. Anytime the Art Center is open you may use your area of work unless there is another class in session. Ceramic Access must come in the first week to pay for their access or they will be dropped.

By registering for a class at the Art Center, you agree to abide by the code of conduct of Florida State University and the policies and procedures of the Art Center. Failure to abide by these policies and procedures may result in the loss of Art Center privileges, with no refund or re-admittance, at the discretion of the Art Center.

Beginning Wheel

Students learn the basics of wheel throwing and experiment with making a variety of forms including bowls, plates, mugs, and vases. Glazing techniques are also covered. Most students produce a large number of finished pieces. Students will have a choice of five types of clay from $15 - $24 per 25 lb. bag that they can store at the Art Center. Class payment and clay will be purchased the first day of class.

Studio Access

Access to the Art Center studio whenever there is not a class in session and during studio hours per session dates for experienced ceramists. Five types of clay are available to purchase at the Art Center.

Clay Handbuilding

Clay Handbuilding

Students learn the basics of handbuilding with clay. Students will have a choice of five types of clay from $15 - $24 per 25 lb. bag that they can store at the Art Center. Class payment and clay will be purchased the first day of class.

Beginning Acrylic Painting

Clay Handbuilding

Students learn the techniques of painting. Assignments are geared towards learning basic concepts and styles of painting. Most students complete 5 to 7 paintings during a typical session. Previous drawing experience is preferred but not required. All materials are provided.

Glass Fusing

Glass Fusing

Students learn the process of glass fusing to create several projects including plates, bowls, wall hangings and jewelry. Emphasis is placed on creativity and exploration of the medium. Most materials are provided.
