Taste of Tallahassee

12th Annual Taste of Tallahassee

Each fall, Florida State University welcomes students back to campus with Seminole Sensation Week. This week provides students with free on-campus activities and events ranging from an involvement fair and comedians to a large outdoor concert. Last year, we averaged over 43,000 students attending Seminole Sensation Week, with numbers increasing every year.

We would like to invite your establishment to participate in these highly successful events! This year, Seminole Sensation Week will feature Taste of Tallahassee at two events: FSU’s Last Call Before Fall Concert at the Oglesby Union and Experience Tallahassee Festival in Cascades Park, a collaboration between Florida State University, Florida A&M University, Tallahassee Community College.

Two Opportunities to Participate

We are pleased to offer two different opportunities for local restaurants to participate in Taste of Tallahassee and reach students who are new to the Tallahassee area: FSU’s Last Call Before Fall Concert (on-campus at the FSU Oglesby Union) and Experience Tallahassee Festival (off-campus at Cascades Park).

After you complete the registration form, you will receive an email from our office within 2 business days confirming your registration. You will receive a follow up from the Student Activities Center closer to the event with information about logistics and set-up.

Registration and participation are FREE for both events! During the school year, vendor marketing at the Oglesby Union starts at $2,500!

As a participant in Taste of Tallahassee, your establishment must provide and distribute at least 750 servings of food samples to students as they visit your table. We estimate at least 2,000 to 2,500 students will attend the Last Call Before Fall Concert and 4,000 to 4,500 to attend Experience Tallahassee Festival. Feel free to market your establishment with coupons, menus or flyers to these new students. Don’t forget to bring plates, utensils and other items needed for serving.

Participants will be provided with two 6-foot long tables and 4 chairs. We will provide all marketing and advertising leading up to these events. Please note that electricity is limited and therefore not guaranteed. We are unable to provide kitchen space or extension cords.

Some important things for you to note:

  • Your establishment is responsible for serving the food. Due to University policy, students may not serve themselves.
  • Keep in mind this is an outdoor event, please use all necessary precautions for such an environment.
  • Please use gloves when appropriate.

You may begin setting up your food two hours prior to the event. Taste of Tallahassee at FSU will begin at 7:30pm and run until 9:30pm, with setup beginning at 5:30pm. Taste of Tallahassee at Cascades Park will begin at 4:00pm and run until 8:00pm, with setup beginning at 2:00pm.
